Hello everyone. I am sorry for this extremely long delay. I am sorry. I really am.
I have been extremely busy with life recently. This summer was meant to be a "take it easy" summer. Yet I had to work. Each and almost every day. I would return exhausted. I have neglected not only this duty, but you. All of my friends. And I feel terrible for doing so. I'm sorry
Thank you Roshi, for supporting my "inspired" judging moments. Judging because you tell me to and not because I feel the willingness and excitement for it does not help ratings.
I shall rate tomorrow if my mood remains positive
Again I am sorry
But I shall make up for it
This weekend
I shall

No problem. I like when you take time and then write a great review of each entry, instead of rushing to post a half-arsed one.

There would be a new problem because it would be unfair to everyone else and everyone else would make their own BtT.

CL - Your description does indeed aid the intensity and tenseness of the situation. Tense things often do not give in to light intensity, thus revealing the intense pressure that makes the player so tense while listening to this tense song. Joking aside, as I mentioned before your description aids in creating pressure. You MUST escape, but how? you reveal the hopelessness and the impossibilities that you must do: Die in a much less painful manner, or do the impossible and run. Survive.
Although it’s not one of fast paced action, it is one of
fast paced decision and for that I give you

Rating of Run – 1.5

Bzilla – Muggaman. Is good. Does have a fast paced feel to
it…it pumps the player up! And usually in anime’s I mean cartons when people
are pumped up they run really fast like Sonic, cause they GOTTA GO FAST HEHEHEH
But no, the song DOES give an intense fast paced feel to the
player and all they want to do now is run at the speed of light, obstructing
the view with nintendogs, er I mean destroying all your enemies at once and
saving the day

Rating of RUN B**** - 2

Linko – Genius entry with a very well described…description.
Yes, this is not simply a song of running away to survive or to escape a deadly
pursuer. No, this is a song that expresses the very clockwork of the chased.
The hunted. Not only must they focus on out running this dangerous predator,
but they must also find out a way to cleverly outdo him, knowing the chaser is
just as witty and clever as he is.
I dunno but it’s spectacular, gets the adrenaline pumping,
and it’s not a mindless run but a run your life depends on.

Rating of RUN B**** - 2

Smash – Toho. Besides your description, I must agree that
this is certainly a song that gets the blood pumping. However I must PERSONALLY
disagree about the running “away” part. Instead I envision this song more for a
vicious confrontation against a powerful rival of the sorts, toying with you.
Instead, you run TOWARDS them with intense speed, wanting to bring them down as
fast as you can. As you said, this is the ultimate being with powers far beyond
your own. However the more you are hit back, the stronger and faster you rise
to defeat this opponent.

Rating of RUN B**** - 2

Roshi – woah woah. The beginning reminds me of james bond
then suddenly Men In Black kicks in and I feel im in that movie….you know…the
movie with the fcoywboys and the aliens. HAAHHAHAHAHaaa
Ok but this was a good choice. The subtle urgency to escape
is accompanied by an upbeat tune, negating some of the urgency in the song. So
what first started out as a sneaky escape from some dangerous place turns into
a more adventurous exploration. Fortunately, that feeling only lasts for a bit,
with the rewst of the “danger escape from danger in a quiet/sneaky/urgent
methud” so thas good. Sorry tho but the happy part sorta kills it for mee?

Rating of Run – 1.5

Zman – I…I don’t even. What is this. OSHI THERE IT IS
You were right. This “oshi” feeling is definitely present.
Impending doom is approaching you! You gotta RUN. The intro was a rather nice
touch to this song. It gave you a sense of SOMETHING IS GOING WRONG I SHOULD
GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE…and BAM. You’re outta here.

Rating of RUN B**** - 2

Pik –
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF
This SONG. DAMN YOU. CURSE YOU. No really. Why you test my bias
nature? HM ? I AM NOT ZMAN. I shall set bias aside.
Yes this song does provide an urgency to run. Running towards a goal while
running away from obstacles and enemies. Perhaps this is clouded by my playing
of the game. Let me clear my mind for a bit.
Honestly, I feel RUN from the CS soundtrack would have
worked better. Running hell, again, does urge the player to run. But it does
not impose a devastating or urgent feeling onto the player themselves. Instead
it urges them to go forward and survive while RUN works much better. That’s
just me though, honestly

Rating of Run – 1.5

MWH – NO…….no…nononoNONO…..t-they….t-t-they are coming….t-they
are chasing me….down these silent hallways…..the…t-the fear…it consumes me….i’m
trembling…t-the blood….t-the faces…..t-the darkness…..t-the AMBIENCE
GENIUS. SUCH A SIMPLE TRACK. BUT IT SCREAMS INTO YOU. Even
the sounds are indescribable. As you said…it is the unknown which we fear most…this
primitive fear from our very beginnings. It’s that innate fear which DRIVES THE
PLAYER TO RUN. PERFECT

Rating of RUN MUTHAFAKERS – 2.5

Sir – Your bloody description was perfect. The conquering of
the planet by MWH’s foot. It’s perfect. I can honestly envision MWH’s foot just
destroying everything in its path accompanied by this song. The evil chanting
and the drums and everything. It’s so evil…so bent on destroying you that you
run for your life. You run to save yourself, to prevent having to be face to
face with this horrendous beast. The beast that is…MWH’s Foot

Rating of RUN B**** - 2

Mama – Honestly, this isn’t so generic. This is why I love
orchestral music. The variety of instruments brings such LIFE AND ACTION AND
INTENSE feeling in varying degrees in their own unique ways. The way the
trumpets clash with the other instruments. Of course it may be straightforward,
but it’s epic on a grand scale. It works regardless. Oshi this part is great.
The buildup. Regardless, this was good.

Rating of RUN B**** (Literally) - 2

Hydro didn’t post, so 0 for him.

Oh, if anyone posted this, the first 3 would've been handed out.

Zman - 2 + 2 = 4 + 1.5 = 5.5 + 2 = 7.5 + 2 = 9.5
Bzilla - 1 - 1 = 0 + 2 = 2 + 1 = 3 + 2 = 5
MWH - 2 + 1.5 = 3.5 + 2 = 5.5 + 2 = 7.5 + 2.5 = 10
CL - 2 + 1 = 3 + 2 = 5 + 2.5 = 7.5 + 1.5 = 9
Smash - 2 + 2 = 4 + 1 = 5 + 1 = 6 + 2 = 8
roshi - 1 + 1 = 2 + 2 = 4 + 1.5 = 5.5 + 1.5 = 7
Pik - 2 + 0 = 2 + 2 = 4 + 2 = 6 + 1.5 = 7.5
Sir - 2 + 2 = 4 + 2 = 6 + 2 = 8 + 2 = 10
Linko - 1 + 1.5 = 2.5 + 1 = 3.5 + 2 = 5.5 + 2 = 7.5
Mama - 2 + 2 = 4 + 2 = 6 + 2.5 = 8.5 + 2 = 10.5
Hyrdo - 1 + 1 = 2 + 0 = 2 + 2 = 4 + 0 = 4

Next round...hmmm...
well...many of you have complained about me valving this round. I must agree, it certainly has been quite sometime. 10 days actually.....ah
Time. Such an interesting concept. We often use expressions describing long periods of times as "eternity" or "forever" without even ourselves fully comprehending what that actually means.
Forever...eternity...time...it plays with our minds. Thankfully, some things dont change with time. They remain, let's say, "timeless".

Find me a song from a game from any game system from the beginning of video games to 1992.
A song that hasn't lost it's touch, that no matter how many years pass by it will still remain amazing and epic without interference and obvious age such as static or beeps. That if one were to place it into Brawl, it would sound great.

A timeless masterpiece.

Kirby's first game was the star of something huge. One of the greatest video game franchises ever. The music is just so..... This music was one of the first you heard in the game, and it was a joy. Also this is some other descriptive adjectives that help me describe the music. I then follow by giving you examples on how this song helped make the game. I end this with a well thought out sentence explaining how this is a masterpiece forever.

It's simply a theme from an old video game. But, it's not any theme, it's the final boss theme. Back in 1992, this was as epic as it could get within the video game music world. I feel that this is where it can end, and only one of us is leaving alive. Me or HIM... I must give it my all and go to any lengths to succeed in destroying the final boss. THIS IS WHERE IT ENDS.

THis right here, is my favorite VGM from 1992 and before. There really isn't much to say, Sonic 2 probably my favorite sonic game EVAR and this music was for probably the stage that caused me the most trouble as a kid as well as many others (PURPLE WATER). This song holds up well tday and even has a remastered version for sonic generations

Also here is the original in the case you dont think the remix counts

So, that excludes songs that were already remade in Brawl?

Btw, this is your way of "making up"? Sad

I suppose remixes are unfortunately "not allowed" in this round. THEN AGAIN, you could say that the timelessness of a song is not only the fact that it still sounds good, but perhaps the musical notes itself in being remade into something new but still retain it's original glory. So...why not? Find me a remix that retains the greatness of the original.
Remember.

You did not understand my question. I meant, for example, since "Athletic" from SMW is remade in Brawl, we cannot post that track in it's original form?

When it comes to timeless, the first thing that game to mind was Castlevania. It manages to "recycle" themes from past games and make them sound fresh and new, proving that its tracks can be considered timeless.

Although I find Bloody Tears to be the definitive theme of Castlevania, I couldn't really find a rearrangement that capture the feel of the original. So I went with this instead.

Although I'll admit that the pacing between the two is different, but that doesn't really matter. The bloody track is timeless.

Here's the original.

Pik and Hydro, if you want those points, I suggest you change your entries now. The time range between the tracks must be starting from 1962(because games totally had BGM back in the 60's and 70's, right?) up to 1992. Pokemon was released in 1996 and Link's Awakening in 1993. Fixit.

When one thinks of timeless, some will think that it's amazing and will never be touched with age. This is true. But does it have to be amazing to be timeless? Maybe it could, say... strike fear?

I pick this because it's timeless in a sense that it makes you scared, fearful, and yet excites. No matter how you may listen to it, no matter what year in the future, this song will always hold the same effect.

I'm surprised nobody posted this. Dabess shit. I wanted to go with the title theme, since it's more "timeless", because of the cartoon, but this is a much better entry overall.
