Goldeneye 007, the remake of the N64 version, was released today.

Goldeneye, atm of typing, has 3 reviews.

- 9.0/10 from IGN
- A- from Gaming Nexus
- 6.5/10 from Game Informer

Once some more reviews from more well-known critics (Metacritic, GameSpot, etc), I will put them here.

James Bond 007: Bloodstone, is another game released, for the Xbox, PS3, PC, and DS. Xbox and PS3 was less critically received, getting 5.0/10 from IGN. The DS and PC have yet to be reviewed, although will probly have similar scores.

Also, a DS version of Goldeneye 007 was released (DS gets both Bloodstone and Goldeneye). It also has yet to be reviewed.

This topic will also serve as the Goldeneye discussion.

What are your thoughts on the game? Personally, I'm excited, but have to wait for Christmas. I haven't played the N64 version, but I had always wanted to play it.

I'm also quite excited for a FPS like this to be on the Wii.

no way it will be able to live up to today's standard fps,but it seems ok, but cant touch the original

It doesn't have me too hyped. The N64 game was good, and I think the remake was a pretty smart idea, it will bring a lot of sales which means money. I might try this game out, but it's not one I'd be willing to buy soon, but as long as it gets good reviews, that's all that matters.

I am excited for all First Person Shooters for Wii. I quite enjoy playing with Wii remote, but usually the Wii versions of the games are quite crappy.

This may change things a bit, since Goldeneye is Wii exclusive, Conduit 2 is coming out next year and it is also Wii exclusive. Call Of Duty Black Ops, Wii version, is said not to lack features from it's HD counterparts and they are trying to maximize the graphics as much as possible.

I hope FPS becomes popular on Wii. GoldenEye is the second 3D game i have played in my life, after Super Mario 64, so yea, i guess i am happy about the remake.

i will probably pass,though i love goldeneye 64,but i think that for today's standards, black ops for ps3 is a better choice,of course if you dont have ps3 or 360,this seems like somthing nice to pick up

Don't forget Black Ops is Wii also.

Black Ops is sexy IMO

i will forget black ops for wii,as usual the fps will suck on wii and not suck on 360 or ps3

A reason is the Wi-fi and Graphics

and often the controls aren't made properly,and of course lack of features,if only nintendo was able improve on those things, then they could be in the fps market

Roshi, i will give it a chance, since they said they are doing as much as possible to make it worthy. I am playing a lot of FPS on the X360, but i really enjoy using Wiimote, since it's much easier to aim and stuff, you need a steady hand, which makes it more realistic.

The graphics have always been a letdown, but The Conduit had some pretty decent graphics and 2nd game will feature full online multiplayer mode, as well as offline and a lot more features.

I really hope they don't mess this one up. Wii has potential, they just failed to make anything good in the past.

idk, i particularly am kind of against most FPS's (such as halo and cod) cuz i believe that ejust cuz a game is an FPS doesnt mean it should get toms of hype, nor are all FPSs good

Well if you don't like playing FPS, then why are you discussing? I actually really like COD, since it's one of the best out there. Halo is okay.

Btw, i played this game yesterday for like 5 minutes and it's utter crap. The graphics are awful, since it is actually a remake of the N64 game. Very similar graphics. The controls aren't bad, but i was kind of disgusted.

Then i read IGN's review and i was like "Either they have some serious problems, or i do."... Idk...

Then i played CoD Black Ops on XBOX360 and got really disappointed, since you cannot change the rules for the multiplayer game (you are forced to heal all the time, the timer is on, etc). MW2 is way better.

Bad day for FPS i guess :/

The total average for all reviewer scores (I have not posted all) is 8.2.

Also: GameSpot took off points because of NO WII SPEAK SUPPORT.

Obviously, GS is upset that they cannot smack-talk a 9-year-old from Germany.

It is most likely me...

i guess i may have to pass,just have to wait for the wii to get a good multiplayer shooter some other day....
