Sources claim that Nintendo is considering changing the Wii U's name. Yep.

Seeing as the DS to 3DS name change wasn't a huge difference and confused some consumers into thinking it was very similar, this makes sense.

Also, the console is confirmed for holiday 2012 release in US, EU, and Japan.

thats good, because the wii u doesnt sound very... awesome(neither did the wii but the wii u?nope)

I hope they do. I just don't want to caught playing a console called the Wii U, sounds too much like weeaboo.

I honestly wouldn't mind. I don't think it's a bad name in general, but many people know that the Wii was targeted at more of a casual audience, and the Wii U sounds more less the same, so consumers could be alienated by thinking it's the same thing as the Wii with a different controller and better graphics.

IMO, the Nintendo Stream sounds cooler.
