Sonic Colors's first review was from Nintendo Power, giving the game a 9/10. What they said about the game -
Pros:
-best since 16-bit era
-3D gameplay very well done
-no camera issues or major control issues
-Gamecube/Classis Controller compatibility
-Wisps not a forced gimmick, more of enhancement, many places you can opt out of using Wisp powerup.
-Chaos Emeralds unlocked by special stages in the Game Land stages.
-40 stages, multiplayer gives game content
-praised Music and Graphics
Cons:
-boss battles reused in the game
-story has cheezy puns
DS version was also reviewed, getting a 7.5.
Pros:
-Sonic Rush style
-Wisp power ups enhance
Cons:
-Much shorter then Wii verison
-Lacks in features when compared to Sonic Rush Adventure
The European version of the magazine, the Official Nintendo Magazine, has given the game 86/100, saying basically what NP said, but instead calling the Multiplayer rubbish.
