Zman, I disagree. Religion isn't rubbish. There are things which I agree with and things which I don't.
The church doesn't forbid you from being homosexual. It just doesn't support homosexuality, because it is against their idea of a family (a man and a women with their own child). These are modern times and such things are tolerable. However, there are always going to be people who are complete homophobes and there's nothing you can do about it.

in all honesty it shouldnt matter, people shoould be able to have gay marriages if they want regardless of the beliefs of some religions,and those religious people can just leave those gay people alone, its their choice, its not like its affecting them

Linko, people can have there opinions. Whether they're strong or stupid depends on whether they have a good reason for having them. Hating on someone because they are of another sexuality isn't a very good reason. Nor is because the bible or God says so. Because they don't. Religion doesn't free up people it enslaves people, so don't buy into the bible.

So yes Linko, there is a problem in people who have a hate for homosexuals for no reason.
