.... kind of a pointless topic, but the problem SO MANY people turn away from a website (ANY WEBSITE) if you have to take a survey

It sounds like a good idea, but i think we should only suggest it, not make it mandatory

Read what I said, I clearly stated it in there. We could use the survey to pinpoint where most of our members come from. Like my bro said, making a video for it DOES seem kind of harsh, and because of the fact that YouTube got rid of it's groups (it makes it pointless if most members are from youtube), there is no point in doing so, but for other areas, it's not pointless.
Other than replying to both of you guise, most of our members HAVE NOT come from YouTube. Like that one guy that was on today said he found us by randomly surfing. And Pikmin came from Yahoo answers, so yeaaah. I guess this idea isn't THAT pointless

I like it. If we do put up a survey, we can basically narrow where the advertising takes most effect on. So let's say we have 10 from Youtube and 1 from Y!M, we could try advertising on Y!M again, if it doesn't work, we can find new places.
However time and place are BIG subjects on this. Random people tend to luck out on finding this forum.
