We have 2 unfortunate deaths of gaming this week. Lets look at what they did...

Hudson Entertainment: Many may recognize this company, as they worked on the Mario Party series. They also made games like Bomberman and Lost in Shadow. However, the main Hudson group still is around in Japan, but any game will have to go through Konami to be released.

Guitar Hero:
The guitar-playing game is officially dead now. Due to incredibly poor sales of Guitar Hero 6 (less then 100,000 copies in the first month), Guitar Hero is now done for. It may also be because of the more popular Rock Band franchise. Although not many will be sorry about this. Also, something to note is I actually predicted this to happen.

Lets have a moment of silence for these 2 losses...

While the loss of Hudson gaming is a sad the loss of guitar hero is not. Hopefully Konami continues to localize the Hudson stuff.

You know, I want more Mario Parties, even though they sometimes suck badly. Guitar Hero was repetitive. Besides, Rock Band pretty much dominates it for the last few years...

Hudson was bleeding cash for a while now and I think they were having problems with their liscense with Nintendo for the use of Mario, which didn't help matters.

Of note, there are 2 other gaming companies in pretty bad straights right now. First is Bandai/Nameco's NA division, though that won't hurt the Nintendo too much (but ruins my chance of seeing Tales of Vesperia or Tales of Grace getting localized Sad ).

The one that does greatly affect Nintendo however is their long time rival Sega, which has been bleeding cash for years now. While you wouldn't expect their rival to affect them much, Sega is one of the largest 3rd party suppliers for the Wii, and their loss could drastically affect the diversity of games offered on the system. That's my 2 cents.

Konami hasn't really bothered much with Wii. I doubt we will see some more MP sequels.

Hellfire, Namco Bandai isn't so bad, but they are failing lately with their games. And, why do you think Sega is gonna stop cooperating with Nintendo? Or were you just stating how powerful they are?

I haven't heard any kind of controversy of the whole "death" of Guitar Hero. For Mario Party, I am wanting a Mario Party on the 3DS.

Haha I still want Rock Band on my Itouch.
