So, we got some news about SMB3DS. First off, Shigeru Miyamoto said:
"It's a combination of Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario on N64. It won't convey the message if I talk to you today, but if you play it at E3 that will give you more understanding of what I'm talking about."

He also said 3D would play a large part in the game, saying judging distance is easier in 3D then in 2D.

He also stated "The tail you mentioned on the logo -- it's what you think it is." Yep, Tanooki suit returns.

On a final note, he said, "Completely original, and coming this year."

Actually Shigeru doesn't know if he should use the Tanooki suit or the Racoon suit.

The game will be great, but it won't compare to Paper Mario 3DS, and yes, it can't stand a chance against Ocarina of Time 3D.

From Super Mario director Yoshiaki Koizumi:

"I can't reveal the actual number of power-ups in the game right
now, but suffice to say that we do try to include enough so that people
can enjoy a variety of different kinds of play experiences in the title.
Also, I should point out that we don't necessarily decide on what
number of famous Mario suits will appear in the game and proceed from
there - we try to find interesting gameplay ideas and then try to settle
on what to do in different places. I can say that we will definitely
have some more familiar suits than just the Tanooki Suit."

This means more suits.

Super Mario 3DS gameplay. The looks a lot like a cross between Super Mario Bros 3, New Super Mario Bros, and Super Mario Galaxy. The seems to use a lot of SMG music. Also, there are clocks you collect to increase time.

Hopefully this'll be challenging like the old NES Mario games.
