Lost in a world of imagination, the boy returned to the land of dreams. He seemed entertained with his own story within the vast caves of creativity in his mind. Characters of his own fought battles and waged wars. They lived and they loved. They fought for revenge, or sometimes had no idea what they were fighting for. However, he lacked a link with the outside world.
To them, he seemed dead inside.
Slowly, his world began to slowly turn to a stop. The colors and vivacity of his spirit began to dim down and grow gray. The mechanical clockwork within the boy's mind began crashing down. The vast plains of green and the magical forests turned ablaze and became afflicted by the encroaching corruption.

It was a disease. One by one, the characters who had played such an important role in his life slowly began to fade away. Their names transformed into ashes and were blown away in the wind.

Eventually, the vast canvas the boy had worked on for so many years was shred into pieces by this terrible curse. The darkness consumed, and even his soul was at risk from getting swallowed up into the shadows. The abyss called his name, but he did not answer.

He had forgotten who he was. His world had been crushed, along with his identity. He was partly empty from then on.

He had lived his final fantasy.

---

4 years later...

Rain clouds cover the sky. It's dusk. The grown man looked out the window at the stormy sight. A spark of lightning lit the sky, and a transformation took place.

Deep within his mind...
Among the field of ashes and soot...
Upon a silent hill full of gray and death...

A small sapling began to sprout. It's leaves, a lush green.
A dew drop slid off one of its leaves and fell into the ash, bringing the vast field back to life. Incredibly, the disaster which had occurred so long ago was undone.
The light had returned and the skies became clear.
He found himself in that field of flowers once more. He looked up and saw familiar faces once again.

His heroes...no...friends...were alive.

The rain continued to pour, and the man took a pen and began to write.

Four years had past since the tragedy.
One day was all it took to change it all.
Even still...

The man has taken himself into transferring his stories onto paper.
Forever making them immortal. So that future generations will be able to enjoy the quests and adventures he once had as a young man.
To inspire and provide hope to a generation lost in darkness.

A force so powerful...

Transcending time and even death itself.

Chips.

Aside from some of what Kipmintendi has noticed, I've got these:
"Eventually, the vast canvas the boy had worked on for so many years was shred into pieces by this terrible curse." - Kirby: Canvas Curse? I haven't played the game, so idk.
"The rain continued to pour" - Pokemon?

Yea, it's morning. I don't really pay attention right now.
